The Massey House was a homestead built by Watertown founding father Hart Massey in 1803. It is currently the oldest standing structure in Watertown. Massey built this home to replace the log cabin he originally built in 1800 on the present site of the Paddock Arcade.

Massey's hall and parlor style frame house, the first in Jefferson County, originally stood on the site currently occupied by the Paddock Mansion. After being moved twice and extensively remodeled, the house currently sits behind the Jefferson County Historical Society on Washington Street.
